TRAINING RESOURCES
There is a lot to learn as a Cadet. But don’t let that scare you. Your instructors - Officers and Cadet Instructors - will guide you through it all from easy to difficult, known to unknown (you’ll learn about that technique in Level 3!). From classroom and practical lessons, to what you need to do to succeed, this page was created with YOU in mind to find the resources to make the most out of your cadet career. *Note to Instructors: this page is only the basics and is intended for squadron cadets. The Training Department has all resources you require for your lessons.

FITNESS TRAINING
One of three aims of the Cadet program, physical fitness is a large component to leading a healthy lifestyle and continue personal growth. The Air Cadet program builds a physical fitness program into our training year. With two fitness tests per year (at least one must be completed for consideration for promotion/advancement), you’ll have plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself and friends to leading a more active lifestyle.
ACFT Items: 20m shuttle run; Push-ups; Sit-ups; Trunk lift; Back saver sit-and-reach; & shoulder stretch.
SUMMER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Throughout the training year, you will work on developing skills that will help you advance at the LHQ.. Summer training affords cadets the opportunity to take those skills and further them. Cadet Training Centres (CTCs) are located throughout Canada and your location will depend on the course you decide to take. Acceptance to a CTC is not guaranteed, and several factors can either help you get on a course, but also may prevent you from attending. LHQ attendance, fundraising participation, and enthusiasm goes a long way to helping you get on a course. Simply put: if you put in the work, you’ll be rewarded. However, sometimes there just isn’t room on a course. Stay positive, and keep working! Click the poster below to see available courses to Air Cadets at CTCs. For more courses, and specific information on each, visit the Cadets Canada Summer Training Page. Oh, did we mention that YOU get PAID to attend Summer Training?! Course Cadets get weekly pay, while older cadets employed as Staff Cadets get a daily rate.
